EXCLUSIVE / TOP PLAYER INTERVIEW ③
Kabioji

Abyss Floor 328
Kabioji's Team

It started with the first SSR he ever pulled, and affection alone.

694,893,425TOTAL POWER

Abyss floor 328 — the deepest anyone in this series has reached. 694M total power, 32 cards at Lv.200. Kabioji, of guild TOP on server J-13, was asked where his team began, and the answer wasn't tactical at all. "Probably just favorites." He likes Reika, so he prioritized her from the very beginning.
We wanted to know how that becomes this number.

01Favorites First — "It Was My First SSR"

PARA

PARALABO Editorial
How would you describe your play style in one line?
Kabioji
Kabioji
Probably just favorites. I like Reika, so I've been prioritizing her from the start.
Kabioji
Also, she was the first SSR I ever pulled, so there's a sentimental bonus.
Editor's note — When motivation and outcome align It's worth recording that floor 328 and 694M total power began with "she was the first SSR I pulled."
Nothing here was calculated as an optimal path. He liked her, so he raised her; he raised her, so she got strong; she got strong, so she became the core. Never dropping the card you're attached to turned out to be the shortest route. The same idea recurs across this whole series.

02The Template — "DPS, Sleep, DPS, Poison"

PARA
LABO
PARALABO Editorial
Why is your team built the way it is?
Kabioji
Kabioji
It shifts a bit between Abyss and Ambition, but I build it as DPS, sleep, DPS, poison. Depending on the opponent I'll swap the poison and the sleep around.
DPSATTACKER
SLEEPSTATUS
DPSATTACKER
POISONSTATUS
Editor's note — Sandwich your damage with control This ordering is a template you can copy directly. Rather than stacking attackers next to each other, a status effect sits between them. The structure buys time for your damage dealers by cutting the enemy's actions.
And "swap the poison and the sleep depending on the opponent" means the status slots are variable, not fixed. Chanyuki, in interview #4, also swaps formations based on enemy layout. What top players share isn't one strong build — it's having several answers ready.

03Building a Slot You Don't Expect Damage From

PARA

How far have you raised Tomoya?
Kabioji
Kabioji
I took Tomoya to 200 because I had apples to spare, but Lv.101 is enough. I'm not expecting damage from him.

Editor's note — What those three numbers tell you Reika sits at 48.8M. Tomoya sits at 13.4M — less than a third, despite both being Lv.200. That isn't under-investment. He isn't asked to deal damage, so that number is sufficient.
Tomoya "As a Brother, As a Friend" carries Survivor (5x after surviving 300 TU), EX Stun Assault (2x to two targets plus a 150 TU stun), Stun Skin (stuns attackers), and HP Reversal. Rather than raw damage, his kit is about stopping the enemy and staying on the field.
"Lv.101 is enough" encodes a real judgment: requirements differ per character. Not everyone needs to be maxed. Enough for the role is enough — and in a game where materials are finite, that's extremely practical.

04Abyss Synergy — Tomoya and Reika

PARA
LABO
PARALABO Editorial
Is there a synergy you find especially strong?
Kabioji
Kabioji
For Abyss, Tomoya and Reika. For Ambition offense, Amakusa and Gold Medal — or Cyclaw if you want to gamble.
Editor's note — Time survived becomes damage What Tomoya and Reika share is that survival time is their damage condition. Tomoya's Survivor is a 5x skill that requires surviving 300 TU. Reika carries a 6x Survivor plus Guts and self-healing, which makes her hard to remove.
Most teams separate the tank from the damage. These two cards make enduring the preparation for damage. Put them together and they compound — Tomoya's stuns extend both their lifespans, and that extra time is exactly what fills their damage conditions.
Chanyuki says "Reika, because of the 6x Survivor." Kabioji says "Tomoya and Reika." Two different routes to the same principle.

05Ambition Offense — Amakusa, Gold Medal, Cyclaw

All three cards named for Ambition offense are about turns and action economy.

Amakusa Jin "When I Look at You" (SSR / Dark / Physical) EX Counter Stance — the first time he is attacked, gains the next turn at 100%
Poison Skin — 10% chance to poison whoever kills him
Serial Killer (2) 160 TU — 4x to two enemies; usable after 2 kills
His purpose on offense is unambiguous. Getting hit guarantees a turn back, so the opponent's attacks convert straight into your action economy. Even when he dies, Poison Skin can leave poison behind. This is a piece designed around being attacked.
Gold Medal (SR)
"Unmistakably Luxurious"
EX Time Flip 250 TU — grants a turn to the ally with the highest current TU (once per battle)
You can choose who gets the turn. Reliable acceleration.
Cyclaw (R)
"Beware the Little Twister"
Self-Destruct Turn Gift 0 TU — sacrifices itself to grant a turn to a random ally
You don't know where it lands. Hence, "a gamble."
Editor's note — Precision or volume "Amakusa and Gold Medal, or Cyclaw if you want to gamble" contains a clear choice.
Gold Medal hands the turn to the ally with the highest TU — the piece you most want moving — but only once. Cyclaw is random, yet it costs only itself and isn't limited by a once-per-battle clause. Accelerate deliberately, or roll for extra actions. Two different bets inside the same role.
Also worth noting: these are an SR and an R. Low-rarity cards sit at the center of his offense.

06Mostly Defense — Real Life Shapes the Team

Kabioji
Kabioji
Ambition often clashes with work, so I'm usually on defense. I tend to leave Amakusa in squad 5 for offense and set the rest to defend.

Editor's note — Designing for the hours you can't be there Ambition overlaps with his working hours. So he thickens his defense and keeps Amakusa in squad 5 for offense. That's less a tactic than a team built around a life.
Plenty of players can't sit in front of the game in real time. Rather than accepting that as a disadvantage, he prepares a shape that works while he's away. Squad 6 still holds 51M, which is what makes it possible.

07What He Enjoys Most — Talking It Through With the Guild

PARA
LABO
PARALABO Editorial
What's the most enjoyable moment for you?
Kabioji
Kabioji
Probably the back-and-forth with the guild during Ambition. Talking through the timing of attacks and defenses is fun.
Editor's note — Being strong alone isn't enough Squad composition for Ambition and Unification, he told us, is decided together with guild members. The criteria aren't personal; they're worked out across the whole guild.
That's exactly where PARANOIZE gets interesting. In guild battles, being strong by yourself doesn't win. Who attacks when, who holds the line — the conversation that sets that timing decides the outcome.
Someone sitting at 694M total power named talking with teammates as the best part. Finding people you can work through problems with is part of what this game offers.

08Advice for New Players — "Abyss. Umbrella Reika. Strong."

PARA
LABO
PARALABO Editorial
Any advice for people just starting out?
Kabioji
Kabioji
Abyss. Umbrella Reika. Strong.
PARA
LABO
Could you tell us her strengths — and her weaknesses too?
Kabioji
Kabioji
With Umbrella Reika, if you put in the attempts in Abyss you can gamble your way through. The downside is she's weak to poison, so the matchup is very explicit — it shows up brutally in PvP.
Editor's note — Value depends on where you're fighting That Umbrella Reika rates completely differently in Abyss and in PvP gets at something fundamental about this game.
Abyss lets you retry. So you can keep rolling until the variance breaks your way — the same structure Maron described as "the deep floors are a probability game; attempts are mandatory." Where gambling is allowed, cards that gamble well are strong.
PvP is a single attempt, and a poison weakness "shows up brutally." The same card is worth different amounts depending on whether retries are permitted — which is precisely why a one-dimensional tier list can't settle the question.

Six things we learned from Kabioji

  1. Keep raising the one you're attached to"She was the first SSR I pulled, so there's a sentimental bonus." That accumulation became Abyss floor 328.
  2. Sandwich damage with status effects"DPS, sleep, DPS, poison." Don't line up attackers — put something that stops the enemy between them.
  3. Keep the status slots variableSwap poison and sleep depending on the opponent. Don't own one fixed best team; build assuming substitution.
  4. Create a slot you don't expect damage fromTomoya is "fine at Lv.101." Once a card meets its role, stop investing.
  5. Some pieces are meant to be attackedAmakusa's EX Counter Stance fires at 100%. The opponent's offense becomes your action economy.
  6. Retries change a card's valueUmbrella Reika can be rolled through in Abyss. In PvP the matchup shows up brutally. Context decides worth.
